Detail Itinerary of Langtang Gosainkuda Trekking
- Day 01: Kathmandu, 1360m.
You arrive in Katmandu and are transferred to the hotel. A pre-trek briefing will be scheduled to discuss the trekking program and co-ordinate any last-minute arrangements.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Today we explore Katmandu on an organized sightseeing tour. This will include a visit to the Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world. We also visit Pashupatinath, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River and home to the most famous Hindu temple in the country. Here we will see Hindu holy men (Saddhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The early afternoon will be free to relax in the hotel garden or visit Thamel for last minute shopping. You will be supplied with your trek departure information in the afternoon. - Day 03: Kathmandu-Syabru Besi, 2000m
Today seven-hour drive to Syabru Besi. We get to modern fascinating village on the banks of the Bhote Kosi at 1420 meters in Sabru Benshi.
Day 04: Syabru Besi-Lama Hotel-2748m, 5 hours trekking
We cross over Bhote Koshi and Ghopcha Khola. We trek through the Ghopcha Khola River bank. And keep ascending through terraced fields, dense forest, various plant species like oaks, maple, and alder and have lunch at Bamboo. Further on, the trail crosses a bridge to the left. We pass by several small Bhattis, as we continue ascending the trail. The route further crosses to the north bank of the Langtang Khola and spectacular vistas of beautiful waterfalls. At reaching 2748 meters we arrive at Lama Hotel where we conclude the trek for the day. - Day 05: Lama hotel-Lantang village-3500m, 4 hours trekking.
From lama hotel trail continue ascending through Langtang Khola bank. The trail leads to climbing further we come across lush meadows of Ghora Tabela at 3000m. Where there is several lodges and a police check post as well wher we have lunch. Further on, the route opens up into a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages showcasing water-driven mills and prayer wheels. On descending for a while, we arrive at Langtang village after crossing a stream to the height 3500 meters. Langtang village is the headquarters for Langtang National Park and has flat-roofed Tibetan style houses. - Day 06: Langtang Village -Kyangjing Gomba-3800m, 4 hours trekking
The trail gradually ascends through rich yak pastures and interesting traditional villages of Muna to Singdun. We cross a wooden bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine. Finally, we arrive at Kyagjin Gompa. There is a small monastery and Swiss cheese factory. - Day 07: Kyangjing Gomba Acclimatization Day.
We take a day off here in Kyanging for acclimatization and explore around, like monastery, cheese factory Kayanging Glacier or Take few hours hike to Yala peak base camp. - Day 08: Kyanging Gomba-Lama Hotel-2784m, 5 hours trekking.
Today Kyangjin, we take a trail back to Lama Hotel following we retrace our route, descending the Langtang Khola via Langtang Village on to Ghora Tabela wher we stop for lunch and thereafter continue descent to Lama Hotel.
Day 09: Lama Hotel-Thulo Syabru, 5 hours trekking
Today, the trail leads again through pine, rhododendron and numerous vegetations en route to Thulo Syabru. On our way we may have magnificent view of Mt.Ganesh Himal. - Day 10: Thulo Syabru- Sing Gomba, 3330m, 6 hours trekking
The trail only ascends for today for 5-6 hours through dense of alpine and Rhodendron forest to reach Sing Gompa, where there also has big cheese factory and you can go and test cheese yourself facing lovely sunny side village on a lap of mountain.
Day 11: Sing Gomba- Gosainkunda Lake, 4380m, 5 hours trekking
One more ascending day to get to Gosainkunda the Holy Lake in the gorge of the Himalaya.But, the climbing to Gosainkund will be rewarding because of various mountains and mountain range on your back drop. - Day 12: GosainKunda Lake-Tharepati 3600m, 7 hours trekking
The day starts a short climb to the Lauribina La Pass, 4610m after the lake, followed by a steep descending trail section to Ghopte. From Ghopte the trail leads ascends and descends to reach Tharepati which is on the lap of mountain where we spend tonight. - Day 13: Tharepati- Tarkeghyang, 2600m, 6 hours trekking
Today’s trekking trail is opposite form the day before for the first part; the trail descends down to the Sherpa village Melachigaun through forest. The trail continues its descend to the Melachikhola, after crossing the bridge the trail leads to other side of the valley at the same time we ascend for the very end of the to get to Tarkeygyaang which is a old and typical Sherpa village in Helambu region. - Day 14: Tarkeghyang-Sermathang, 5 hours trekking
From Tarkeghyang the trail leads to the pretty village of Gangwal, 2500m where there has got a small but very pretty monastery. The trek for today is much more easily almost flat after Gangwal village to Sermathang village which is another fascinating Sherpa village in Helambu region where beautiful old monastery has. - Day 15: Sermathang-Melamchi Bazaar, 870m-Kathmandu, 4 hrs trekking, 2 hrs bus.
Today we only descend down to Malemchi Puul Bazaar with numerous Sherpa village along trekking trail and catch a bus to Katmandu. - Day 16: Kathmandu Departure.
Today is free to relax until your departure or to commence any additional trips or activities you may have booked. If you are departing, you’ll be transferred to the international airport in time for your return flight home.
